Great-Aunt Wendy

Hi Tahlia!

Time flies, you’re now 13! Congratulations! Isn’t it exciting that you aren’t a pre-teen anymore, but instead you’re now an official teenager! Perhaps, you’ll have to pay the full price for the amusement park and buffets because you are no longer considered as a child. Thirteen sure is a funny stage of life. I remembered that some days I felt like I was ready to conquer the world.

The next moment, I struggled to find my self-identity that was like a rollercoaster that constantly went up and down inside of me! Thirteen is a crucial development stage; gradually freedom opens up for you, and soon enough, it’s time to learn to be independent. Being independent is awesome but also scary, since it involves a lot of decision making. Make the right call and choose healthy choices take courage and boldness. Thirteen is also a good time to make some real lasting friendships. I made a few of my best friends during that period of my life. Lastly, I hope you will grow into a beautiful independent lady, and also be dependent on your family, friends, and God. They are the ones who will always love you, despite what stage of life you are at.

Tighten your seatbelt and having an exciting adventure!

Go to the people

Live among them

Learn from them

Love them

Start with what they know

Build on what they have:

But of the best leaders

When their task is done

The people will remark

We have done it ourselves.
