Visiting 靜心中小學

We visited the 靜心 private school on 01/09.  The school held an open house event, and lots of parents took their kids to check out the facilities.  The orientation presentation was held in the musical hall on the 4th floor of the new building. 靜心 private school had an excellent orchestral program, and it was heavily promoted by the principle and the rest of the faculty. The orchestral conductor was there at the presentation as well. Tahlia was rather intimidated by the heavy frame glass – wild hair conductor.

We went to visit school Bilingual facility. It was placed in the basement of the new building. Not very impressive. The library, on the other hand, was nice and grand, and it’s located all the way on the top floor.

Keely qualified for school dance team!

Keely went for the school dance team audition. The audition took place at the 2nd-floor multipurpose room (dance classroom). She had to do several required exercise routines which include splits, and then follow teacher’s dance moves. Lastly, she had to perform a free dance. Keely was qualified and she will start her practice on Feb. 17th, 2:00 pm.

Dining Etiquette Class

Dining Etiquette event was held in the basement dining hall area for 6 graders today. Everyone needed to dress formally to participate in the class. According to Judy, students went into the dining hall in pairs. Boys had to practice being gentlemen and pull chairs out for girls to sit. Even the principle was there at the dining table. The only thing that Tahlia told us about the dining event was the amount of food that were prepared on the table. She is still very innocent. It’s all about her tummy.

Swim, little fishy swim

It was such a privilege to watch Keely swim today.  She was by far the weakest swimmer.  She doesn’t have enough strength in her arms or legs.  Her arms and legs are not straight when she kicks.  But I give her 100% on tenacity and effort.  It is so magical to watch her push her little self forward without giving up.  To watch her push herself beyond her limits.

Pinglin bike ride

We rode for over 6 hours today in the rain out in the fern forest full of fragrant ginger flowers.  It was so serene, peaceful, relaxing and beautiful.

We each had our own stories to listen to.

Tahlia: The land of stories

Keely:  Isle of the Lost

Morris: the history of languages

Janly: great books of the world

It was so nice to spend time together in nature but spend it each in our own mind space.

 Cute contact lenses

Took the kids to Cosmed today just to take a look at the new contact lenses on the market.  You are now able to have your eyes shine with Hello Kitties and Little Twin Stars.

Double Happiness

Here is Tahlia enjoying her new book on audible (Land of Stories) while jumping on the trampoline.   This makes her super happy.

Our final milleage for our California trip is 3334.56 km.

What a wonderful trip in California! We traveled from 8/7 to 8/22 for a total of 15 nights, and we drove altogether 2082.2 miles or 3334.56km equivalent. We began our trip from L.A., drove up to Yosemite National Park, went further north to Lake Tahoe, and visited San Franciso, finally returned to L.A.
